We’ve seen our fair share of hotels, but there’s nothing like this one. Sanrio’s iconic cat character is the motif for two kinds of special-edition rooms at the Tobu Hotel in the historic district of Asakusa in Tokyo. What better place to be a Hello Kitty fan than in Japan? In hotel Hello Kitty land Japan. Enjoy a well-rounded experience of Tokyo whilst staying at the Hello Kitty Hotel, a dream come true for people of any age!
The Hello Kitty Hotel
There are two editions of themed rooms at this hotel: The Sakura Tennyo Room and The Wa-Modern Room. There are six of these rooms in total, three of each theme. This means availability is limited, so make sure to plan in advance! Both rooms are designed with elements of traditional Japanese culture and are pretty pink dreamworlds, perfect for a girls’ trip! Everything down to the kettle is themed. The rooms come with four single beds and a cute hang-out area to drink tea, chat with your friends, and admire your surroundings. You are bound to be mesmerised by the attention to detail and the charming surprises that await.
The Sakura Tennyo Room is flooded with hues of soft pinks resembling the renowned cherry blossom “Sakura” trees found all over Japan. In this room, Hello Kitty is interpreted as a tennyo, a heavenly angel found in Japanese Buddhism. She watches over the four beds and provides protection during your night’s sleep. There is also a zashiki tatami seating area, bringing the traditional Japanese experience together. Even the cushions in this room are in the shape of the classic Hello Kitty bow. A true fairytale!

The Wa-Modern Room has a more edgy feel, with darker and richer shades of pink and maroon. We see slick Western design combined with traditional Japanese sensibility for a modern touch. The seating area is more contemporary, but the traditional Japanese aesthetic is still embraced with Hello Kitty dressed in a stylish kimono.
